The village of Mount Tomah is located approximately 40 kilometres (25 miles) west of Richmond, on the Bells Line of Road.
The peak of Mount Tomah is 1,016 metres (3,333 feet) above sea level.
Its most distinguished feature, the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, is located on the north side of that road. The garden was established in 1972. Entry into the garden is free.
Sandstone woodlands and gullies rest upon a basalt cap making it possible to grow cool climate plants from around the world.
The World Heritage Exhibition Centre is in Mount Tomah and allows visitors to engage in a virtual journey through the canyons and ridges of 1,000,000 hectares of wilderness....
