Off Centre

Off Centre, in Hobart, is a gallery and shop featuring work by Tasmanian ceramic artists, a jewelry maker and a photographer. The gallery is located in the Salamanca Arts Centre, close to Hobart's waterfront and a short walk from the city's central business district. Off Centre is managed by a cooperative of ten professional Tasmanian artists who exhibit and sell a diverse range of work. You can choose from a range of artefacts including hand-painted tableware, elegant pierced porcelain vessels, ceramic sculptures, pearl necklaces and stunning photographic prints. One of the artists is always on hand at the gallery to impart expert knowledge of the work on display. Off Centre also manages a small adjoining gallery, which exhibits the work of emerging and established local artists in a variety of media. You can visit several other galleries in Salamanca Place. The Salamanca Arts Centre hosts a vibrant program of changing exhibitions in the Long Gallery, Sidespace Gallery, Loft Gallery and Top Gallery.
